Flitterwochen - 3 weeks Brazil

First of all:
Many, many thanks to all of you who made this unforgetable trip possible with your presents to our wedding.

Vielen vielen Dank Euch allen die diesen unvergesslichen Urlaub mit Euren Geschenken zur unserer Hochzeit moeglich gemacht haben und natuerlich Martin (Soltours) der alles so schoen fuer uns organisiert hat.

And now, the story:
Our trip kind of started before Christmas, coming to Germany, but the honeymoon I'd say started at Frankfurt Airport... with a 5 hour delay of our Plane (Congratulations Condor!). Well we got free breakfast, free lunch, (had sleeping well the night before due to Alexandras hospitality in Frankfurt) and were on honeymoon, so we kept up the spirits and enjoyed the fairly good food. The flight then didn't seem to end. It was really really dry and warm in the plane, and well the films weren't great either. And then Airport of Salvador de Bahia - we had arrived. It was warm!!! Nice and warm!!! Good start. Unfortunately we weren't picked up from the airport due to the delay of the plane, but well. All a bit tiring but then - our absolutely lovely Pousada! Georgous breakfast on the next morning in the room, everyone was so friendly!

And then we had 5 days exploring the former capital of Brazil. That includs using the "Lacerda Elavator" (above) a pretty big elevator connecting the upper and lower part of the town. A true adventure for slightly claustrophobic people, I can tell you.

After 5 days we had explored the city quite well: We were diving, had our little favourite restaurants - for Vince that was the self-service around the corner in Pelourinho were food was charged by weight (o:, we had checked out local and less local beaches on the search for a good surf spot ( - this story maybe another time), and learned the very first words (in my case) in Portugese.

From there we went on to Natal and visited Martin. Vince got finally his surfboard with a help of Edouardo, a friend of Martin.

And then our little, well I'd say BIG highlight - 6 days Fernando de Norohnha. The anticipation was quite obvious on our faces when we arrived:

First exploration of the island on the same evening:

No, I didn't work with Photoshop on that one! No enhanced colours, nothing. It was just paradisiac!!!

In Pipa we staid in a little simple Pousada directly at the beach - and directly in front of a surf spot. Even the owner is a surfer! Guess who was very happy (o:

And then came a rather long way back: From Fernando de Norohna we flew back to Natal - where we staid over night with Martin.

The next night we flew back to Salvador were we staid with Alejandro:
I had never seen something like that before and arriving in the middle of the night it looked even more unreal and I really felt like in a science fiction film.
